GMHC Hails Governor Andrew Cuomo's Proposal to Increase Access to HIV Treatment For Teens
February 11, 2016 - New York, New York - GMHC released the following statement regarding Governor Andrew Cuomo's proposal to increase access to HIV treatment for teens.
STATEMENT BY GMHC CEO KELSEY LOUIE:
Current law allows teens to get treated for sexually transmitted diseases without parental consent, and Governor Cuomo's proposal adding HIV to this list will help ensure that nothing stands between
New Yorkers with HIV, and the support, treatment and care they need to live longer and healthier lives. We look forward to working with the Governor on initiatives similar to this that will direct new funding to expand access to HIV testing services and PrEP in order to make sure New York State Ends AIDS by 2020.
