The Snowy Owl AIDS Foundation presents
CAMP SNOWY OWL
2010
in partnership with
CAMP WENDAKE

June 3, 2010 - The goal of the Snowy Owl AIDS Foundation is to establish, build and maintain a financial resource available to organizations dedicated to HIV/AIDS education, prevention, direct or support services, primary care and/or the expansion, enhancement of existing HIV/AIDS services. The Snowy Owl AIDS Foundation is a fully recognized charitable Foundation established in memory of Louis Turpin.

Louis knew how lucky he was to be surrounded and supported by friends and family and also knew too well how many others were not quite as fortunate and wanted something to be done to help. He taught us about the disease and helped us to see how we could make a difference. On the day of Louis' death, as family and friends were gathered to share in his passing, an enormous snowy owl appeared just outside his window. For those present, that magnificent bird represented comfort and hope.
At that moment the snowy owl became a symbol of the love, compassion, and beauty of the human spirit which is seen every day in the fight against HIV and AIDS. Since Louis' passing, the power of the snowy owl has inspired us to create this lasting organization in his memory.

Camp Snowy OWL has been a dream of the foundation for many years, in fact one of our first grants was awarded to CAMP Chrysalis, FACE AIDS. Camp Wendake has been a recipient of the Snowy Owl AIDS Foundation grants for many years, due to its popularity however the Camp Wendake board of directors was forced to make a difficult decision and is no longer offering this opportunity to people living outside of their catchment area. A year ago the opportunity arose for a similar camp to be explored in Eastern Ontario and we are now very happy to invite you to take part in this wonderful experience giving families affected by HIV/AIDS a chance to be in a safe, peaceful, joyful environment leaving behind their worries and cares.

Camp Snowy Owl will be held from Sunday August 15 th , 2010 at 4:00pm to Friday August 20 th , 2010 at 11:00 am on a site in Lanark, please take a moment to view the website at www.providencepoint.net . Not familiar with Camp Wendake , take a look www.campwendake.org .

Here's your chance to make a difference in the lives of others. Feel free to give me a call if you have any questions, concerns, or you simply want to chat about the opportunity for you to be part of a dynamic team.

Of course if participating is not an option but you know someone who might be interested, please pass this information on. Also if you have an extra loony or two hanging around and weren't quite sure where it should go, the Camp Snowy OWL can find a place to put it to good use.

Help us make a difference in the lives of people affected by HIV/AIDS!
