A DAY WITH HIV

24 HOURS IN THE LIVES OF PEOPLE AFFECTED BY HIV

ON WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 22, 2021
GET IN THE PICTURE

September 18, 2021 - Positively Aware magazine presents A Day with HIV, anti-stigma campaign. A Day with HIV captures 24 hours in the lives of people affected by HIV—that’s everyone, regardless of status. Photography and the power of storytelling combine to confront stigma. Get in the picture, and share your story with the world.

Every year, A Day with HIV coincides with the autumnal equinox—one of only two days of the year when day and night are the same length. It signifies balance; in some ancient cultures, the equinox also signaled a time for change. What better day to take your best shot against stigma?

SHOOT
On Wednesday, Sept. 22, photograph a moment of your day; take a picture of whatever you’re doing. Use your smartphone or digital camera.

SHARE
Post it to your social media. Include a caption that gives:

  • the time and location of your photo
  • what inspired you to take it
  • the hashtag #adaywithhiv.

SEND
Upload your photo with caption at adaywithhiv.com, or email them to photo@adaywithhiv.com by Sept. 25. They’ll be included in the online gallery on display throughout the year.

Remember, photos must be taken on Tuesday, September 22.

YOU COULD APPEAR IN THE NEXT ISSUE OF POSITIVELY AWARE MAGAZINE—OR ON THE COVER!

A selection of high-resolution images from the online gallery will appear in a special section of the NOV+DEC issue of Positively Aware magazine.

Four picture-quality photos will be chosen for different versions of the magazine cover.

A Day with HIV is produced by POSITIVELY AWARE, the HIV treatment magazine published by TPAN, a Chicago non-profit AIDS service organization.
